The BC Government's Fair PharmaCare program applies to you even if you benefit from extended health insurance from your employer. It is important for each individual to be signed up for this program so you need to have the whole family's CareCards and birthdates as well as social insurance numbers for you and your spouse, if applicable.

Family and Kids' Events on The Sunshine Coast
The Duck Pluck - Children's Festival
Cotton candy, popcorn, barbecue, family entertainment (including fiddlers!) and games at Dougall Park, June 21st.
Our own favourite cause, The Sunshine Coast Parent Tot Program, will be the recipient of funds raised by the Duck Pluck. A big thank you to The Royal Bank in Gibsons for their sponsorship.
No admission fee!
Don't miss it and be sure to get your Duck Pluck tickets for the prize drawings.
Local businesses have come through again, providing wonderful prizes for kids and adults alike.
The S.C. Regional District Recreation Programs
Fun for all ages, the SCRD Rec Programs are popular every season. The summer programs include day camps, soccer instruction and even a couple of great day trips for teens to Playdium and WaterMania. Parents might enjoy a chance to take a gardening workshop or get out on the open water in a kayak - take some "ME" time! You can sign up online or call and request a brochure listing the programs.
Last minute notices
Go directly to the Announcements category of the Sunshine Coast Free Classifieds. They recently cleaned up older listings but you can go there as late as Friday night to list a garage sale Saturday morning - free!

West Nile Virus, DEET, and your family

We want to take a moment to thank our site designers, MacFrames Web Design.
When they originally created our site, the work was done pro-bono because one of the Mostly Mommies group was working there. We truly appreciated the amount of time that both she and they put into our little site and we were happy with what we had. Recently, they approached us and asked if they could redo the site in a new, cleaner style and then use us to test some of their Search Engine Optimization department's theories on optimization. In the last couple of weeks, we experienced a huge increase in traffic as a result of our high rankings on Google, MSN.ca and AltaVista. And not just high rankings when you type in "Mostly Mommies" either! (So few people type that in... :-)) At last check, typing in "sunshine coast handmade" brought us up in the #1 position on Google! "Sunshine coast crafts" brings us up #5, with most of the entries ahead of us being Australian sites. Type in "sunshine coast kids" at MSN.ca and there we are, #1; type in "free online games for kids" we are #7 - we ranked higher than Yahoo! Games on that list of world wide web sites! At AltaVista.com, simply type in "sunshine coast games" or (my favorite) "handmade by mommies" and we are in FIRST PLACE!

What those numbers have meant to our traffic is an increase from about 400 unique visitors per month, most through word of mouth, to a whopping 2000 unique visitors per month. That doesn't include the people who come back every couple of days to play games or see what is new!
MacFrames also printed 1000 glossy, full color business cards for us (for only $149) and they are doing our MostlyMommies business card sized CD catalog, too!
