Mostly Mommies launches new Mom-friendly forum

We receive quite a few emails these days about "where are the new games?" and we want you to know we're hard at work on establishing a new way for you, our visitors, to review games we've linked to, suggest a game (Please!), two educational resource forums (should I say "fora"? :-) with moderator experts available to answer your questions. You can read about our moderators for the Teach Your Child to Read forum and the Mathematics education forum here. There's even a room for chit chat - have your say at Mostly Mommies!
Click here to visit the new and, as always, free forum at Mostly Mommies

So, please, if you've visited a game that you and your child particularly enjoyed, drop us a line!
Also, especially for our Artisan Mom members, the forum has a resources and marketing section for Artisans, too. Share your craft and your knowledge with other artisans and find out what works when you're selling your craft, online or off.

Teaching Reading skills:
You can do it - so can they!

Here are a few tips I've picked up, just having read The Phonics in Action website FAQ. (Frequently Asked Questions.)
* Keep your child using his energy while he learns. Use that constant energy which some try to tame as an opportunity to give her the gift of reading.
* Don't keep at it for long periods of time - attention span is not something to learn at the same time as you learn to read.
* Using a phonics system enables your child to "decode" any words he cannot understand without having pictures or other context-clues for what the word could mean.

Find out more at the Phonics in Action web site or visit our new Teach Your Child to Read forum where the developer of Phonics in Action, Joanna Smith, is our resident expert. Ask her a question - she'll answer it in a way that makes it easy for you to understand.

Artisans and more
Mommies, one and all

We'd like to introduce:
Bare Threads
Beautiful, handmade clothing featuring pre-Columbian designs screend on silk-noil
- for kids! That's right - functional and comfortable silk-noil.

Shower Her Baby
Finally - that one stop-shop you've been looking for. If you're planning that next baby shower or other theme party, stop in to Shower Her Baby - have it all shipped straight to your door and support a stay at home / work at home mom.

Country Bumpkin Creations
How this mom of 5 finds the time to create such lovely outfits, all comfy and stylish... well, I just don't know. Maybe she'll tell us at the artisans' forum!

... just in time for the newsletter release:
we're happy to be working with Jennifer McMullen of Dishy Duds Originals.
Jennifer uses authentic vintage materials and funky retro styles for her handmade clothing for ... mostly girls but she's got a couple adorable pants / shirt combos that are super stylin'.
